The RISE Schools, FAQ School Closure Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: When is the effective date of the school closing?
A: The school will officially close on June 30, 2025. The last day of school is May 21, 2025
Q: Will students remain enrolled for the rest of the school year?
A: Yes. All classes will continue as scheduled until the end of the academic term. There will be no summer programs.
Q: Why is the school closing?
A: Despite the dedicated efforts of our school leader, administrative staff, Board, and the RISE stakeholder community, a thorough review by our authorizer—along with the decision of the Governing Board—has determined that the school does not have the necessary time or resources to implement the turnaround efforts required for long-term academic and operational stability. As a result, we have requested the early termination of our Charter Contract with the State Charter Schools Commission (SCSC), effec0ve June 30, 2025.
Q: How can I obtain a copy of my student’s records?
A: Parents can request student records from The RISE Schools during normal business hours. After June 30, 2025, parents will need to request records using the following email: records@rise-schools.org
Q: How will my child’s records be forwarded to their new school?
A: Student records will be automatically forwarded to the next school by The RISE Schools. Parents must complete the following steps by April 30 in order to make sure records are forwarded correctly:
1. If you plan to have your child attend a Fulton County School you MUST enroll your child using the following link: hYps://www.fultonschools.org/students-families/enrollment/online-registra?on
2. After registering your child, you must report the school you plan to enroll your child to show proof of ID and documentation.
If your child is enrolling in another charter school, please complete the required documentation at the new school, which will then submit a request for records to RISE.
• Additionally, from May 19 – May 23, we will have student records prepared for parent pickup at the school, for your own records.
*Under Georgia Law, it is mandatory that your child is enrolled in a school.*
Q: Are there alternative charter, private, or magnet schools in the area?
A: Yes. If you need assistance identifying other school options, please visit the State Charter Schools Commission of Georgia website:
hYps://scsc.georgia.gov/loca?ons/school
Q: What will happen to the teachers at the school?
A: Teachers will be paid through the end of their contracts. They will need to secure new teaching positions for the next school year. The RISE Schools is actively partnering with other charter schools to assist teachers in finding new roles.
Q: Who can I contact if I have additional questions?
A: For any concerns or inquiries, please contact The RISE Schools at 404.669.8060 and speak with Ms. Walker, our parent liaison.
